About Statue of Liberty
Located in the centre of New York Harbour in New York City, USA is a 152-foot (46 metres) concrete behemoth that stands majestic and proud, with a fiery torch raised in one hand, and a tablet of stone in the other. This giant, however, is not to be feared or fled from. People from all over the world are, in fact, even drawn to its more-than-quintessential beauty and are oftentimes unwillingly held in awe of its magnificence. This is the magic of the Statue of Liberty. Lady Liberty, as she is endearingly called, is the symbol inspiration to millions of people the world-over, as she is more than a huge in-animated image of a beautiful lady, but rather, a universal symbol of freedom, respect, and friendship. The Statue of Liberty was a gift of international friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States of America in the year 1884. |
