Unlike the ordinary writing pens, art supplies have a more lofty function to perform — they have to help create a work of art. As such, they need to be both in good condition and suited to the job at hand.

It is best therefore for us to identify some of the most basic and most commonly used art supplies and, if possible, make recommendations on what is considered the best among these by industry standards or by what our artist friends tell us based on experience.
